KIPHIRE, FEBRUARY 23 (MExN): Zisaji Presidency College in Kiphire observed its annual Literary and Cultural Day on February 21–22, bringing together students, faculty, and community members for two days of creative and cultural celebration.
The Literary Day, held on February 21 at the college auditorium, featured events such as poetry recitation, debates, storytelling, quizzes, spelling bees, and solo performances. The event was compered by Leishnao Tikhir and Apila S. Sangtam, with an invocation by Paul and a welcome address from Assistant Professor Rhi Rhi. The day concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Khumtilong.
Cultural Day followed on February 22, led by Munguli and Tansu Y. The celebration brought together members of the Parents-Teachers Association, College Founding Members, the United Sangtam Students Conference, and Akheda Sangtamlaru Tsingmujang, among other invitees.
The day began with an invocation by Khatiba Sangtam, followed by the college anthem. Vilila Jinglaru delivered the opening remarks, and both teachers and students made special appearances throughout the program. Principal Dr R Bendangtemjen addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of cultural activities in fostering holistic development and encouraging students to honor their heritage while adapting to modern influences.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Assistant Professor Yihingle Ndang, who expressed gratitude to the faculty, guests, students, and organizing committee, led by Longtise Sangtam, for ensuring the program’s success.
