Zisaji Presidency College in Kiphire celebrated World Blood Donor Day on June 14 at its old campus under the theme ‘Be there for someone’ and slogan ‘Give blood, share life’. It was organized by the Red Ribbon Club of the college.
Dr. Manwen and Col. Veerendra Tiwari, CO, 7 Assam Rifles Kiphire were the speaker and guest speaker respectively.
Speaking on the theme, Dr Manwen appealed to the students to donate blood to save life. He called upon them not to shy away as and when blood is needed to be donated and also to encourage each other on the issue so that life is saved. Dr Manwen also touched on the technical aspects of blood group and related issues.
Meanwhile, Col Veerendra Tiwari stated, “It's the duty of each individual to do good so that we become an ambassador in people's service.” He also highlighted the problem faced by the citizens during in need of blood.
Students from ZPC, Loyola Higher Secondary School, El Beth, and Saramati School took part in the programme.
Painting competition was the highlight of the day.
