Dimapur, February 23 (MExN): The Zunheboto Tokukujomi Kuqhakulu (ZKT), Dimapur held its 10th biennial session at Agri Expo Dimapur on February 22.
Dr Nihoshe Yepthomi, former parliamentary secretary, Government of Nagaland graced the occasion as special guest. A press note stated here that Dr Yepthomi urged the members of ZTK to inculcate the spirit of willingness towards one another among the members of the society and to let such platform like ZTK be a trend setter of unity for younger generations.
“Zunheboto being geographically the centre of Nagaland, people of Zunheboto should be more active in the progress of the society,” he maintained.
He pointed out that mother tongue and literature is most important for upholding one's cultural identity and urged the people to give importance towards language and literature. He called upon the people to do away with things that degrade the society and to bring about a change in our attitude and character in order to ensure a positive and progressive society.
Atoli K Sema, Director, Social Welfare, Government of Nagaland greeted the members present at the function and encouraged the members to lead by good examples for the betterment of Naga society.
Exhorting the gathering Dr Kheshito Zhimo, Medical Superintendent, District Hospital Dimapur said one should not be held back by our bygones but must come together and work with join hands for a better tomorrow, which will not be possible with words alone but will be possible only through deeds.
Rev Ahoto Chophy Pastor, Ikishe Baptist Church said the invocation prayer. Kakiye Jekha Khuju, vice president ZTK did the introduction of the dignitaries. Rev Kihoto Rotokha, pastor, Chekiye Baptist Church invoked God's blessings to be upon the members of the union. Karen Yepthomi proposed vote of thanks.
A new team of office bearers led by Rotokha Zhimo as chairman, Er Hokiye Zhimo as vice chairman and Er Akito Murru as general secretary was elected for the term 2020-2022.
Outgoing chairman Atovi Zhimomi chaired the function while it was recorded by Hokiye Zhimo, the outgoing vice chairman of ZTK. Cultural presentation marked the day.
