Peren, April 1 (MExN): The Zeliang People Organization Nagaland (ZPON) has termed the DCC Peren’s statement of March 28 as “unfortunate and unpleasant”. The DCC Peren had alleged the former of being “mouthpieces” of TR Zeliang.
A press release from the ZPO (N) asserted that it is a social organisation mandated by the people of Peren District and that it stands for the rights and welfare of its people and land. “The question of terming ZPO (N) as a mouthpiece of TR Zeliang does not arise,” the ZPO (N) stated.
The ZPO (N) maintained that it had issued the previous statement since the fund allocation and execution of works concerned Peren district. “Whoever is awarded contract work is not our concern,” the ZPO (N) stated adding that its only concern was the successful and satisfactory execution and implementation of the project.
“ZPO (N) shall not appreciate or discriminate any individual or groups for having any particular political affiliation but shall welcome and appreciate all those who sympathize our people and district and work for the uplift of our district,” the release maintained.
