Peren, October 25 (MExN): Zeliang People’s Organisation (ZPO), Nagaland has asked the government to expedite the matter pertaining to its letter to the State Commissioner dated July 26, 2016 for verification of certificates in respect of two "Manipur State’s origin Non-Indigenous Zeliang Candidates” appearing NPSC Examination. The letter had appealed to verify the Scheduled Tribe Certificate, Indigenous Inhabitant Certificate, and Backward Tribe Certificate of the two candidates and issue necessary direction to NPSC for immediate withholding of their candidacy.
A press release from Media Cell, ZPO Nagaland mentioned that in the meantime one of the two has been selected for Secretariat Assistant (SA) post under Backward Tribes Reservation Quota of Zeliang by NPSC. In the verification aspect on the other hand, the release said, the Commissioner, Nagaland through his letter NO.CNJ-IIC/10/2016 Dated 10th August 2016 to the Home Commissioner, Nagaland had recommended for verification after obtaining documents of the two persons from the NPSC. “The matter of verification of the undeserving non indigenous Zeliang candidates under competent authority is in the expected line of progress although it is about three months now counting from the date of the ZPO’s appeal letter. The Government can therefore expedite the matter without further delay,” ZPO Nagaland added.
“…But the gradual delay in the investigation process by the competent authority of the Government of Nagaland is posing more of a serious concern in the manner that for the issue caused by non-indigenous and undeserving Zeliang candidates the cases of other deserving indigenous Naga candidates should unduly be prolonged in finalizing the issue of offer letters for appointment.”
The organisation further advised that the NPSC could “segregate the known deserving as well as known undeserving cases in order that the normal procedure of filling the antecedent form of selected candidates that have no complaint can be settled separately.” At the same time, it stated, “it would be unwise on the part of the party that already has attracted complaint and subsequently been declared undeserving to have blundered in committing another deceiving game at the expense of the indigenous Naga job aspirants for it would be heading for a more embarrassing conclusion to be ultimately and unceremoniously dismissed from any position or post that one may hold as the process of verification finally will reveal the truth.”
