Dimapur, October 24 (MExN): The Zeliang Students’ Union, Nagaland (ZLSUN) has directed all established educational institutions and government offices under Peren district to remain closed on October 30 and 31, as the Zeliang community celebrates Chaga Gadi/Lamsimngi.
In a press release, the Union also appeled to the state government and private enterprises to grant casual leave to Zeliang employees serving under various government departments and private enterprises in the state on these particular days.
The ZLSU further extends greetings to the Zeliang community on Chega Gadi/Lamsimngi, which is one of the most significant and premier festivals of the Zeliang tribe. “The festival is celebrated by thanking Almighty God for His bountiful blessings upon His people with rich harvest and good health. It also creates a rekindling of our relationship with our loved ones fills with love and joy,” it said in the release.
“May this auspicious celebration bring prosperity, peace, and unity and be the herald of change to the Zeliang community in particular and the Nagas in general,” it added.
