DIMAPUR, JUNE 5 (MExN): The Zeme Students’ Union (ZSU) Nagaland today protested the Government’s decision to send back COVID-19 positive returnees to their respective districts unless there are standard medical equipment/ facilities in the designated COVID-19 hospital.
In a press release, the ZSU Nagaland condemned the “gross negligence” of the Government with regard to a positive case being “mistakenly” sent to Peren district on June 3 and said that the State Government “utterly disregarded the Peren JAC’s appeal.”
It demanded an official assurance for the safety of medical healthcare workers, returnees and all frontline workers within the district.
The union also demanded that a BSL-3 lab be set up in the district by any means with lab experts now that the district has positive case. It further cautioned that such mishandling of the situation should not be repeated in the future.
