In a landmark event, the Zhadima Students’ Union (ZSU) awarded its ZSU Presidential Scholarship to two students during a ceremony held at the Zhadima Community Hall on Thursday.

The ceremony was graced by former ZSU president Seyiekhrielhou Kuotsu as the guest speaker.

The scholarship, which aims to support academic excellence, was awarded to Viketoulie Miario, a Class VIII student at Rüzhükhrie Government Higher Secondary School Kohima, and Menuosieü Chüpuo, a first-year BA student at Kohima College. Both recipients were granted Rs 15,000 each.

Addressing the gathering, Kuotsu acknowledged ZSU's significant contribution to the community. He highlighted that the scholarship marks a new chapter for students, encouraging them to use it wisely for their academic advancement rather than personal expenses.

Kuotsu further challenged the recipients to work hard and aim for greater achievements. He also announced his commitment to sponsor the next scholarship in honour of his family, encouraging the ZSU to continue the scholarship rather than a one-time grant.

Earlier, ZSU president Medolenuo Ambrocia Loucü shared that the scholarship, a one-time grant, was introduced to encourage academic pursuits among village students.

Out of six applicants, two were selected after a thorough review of documents and an interview process.

The programme was chaired by ZSU ILP secretary Khriesavizo Sorünuo.

ZSU statistical secretary Petekhrietuo Peter Soliezuo gave an overview of the scholarship selection process while vote of thanks was proposed by assistant general secretary Keduoneituo Augustine.
