ZSU questions identity of organization

Dimapur, August 2 (MExN): The Zeliang Students’ Union Nagaland has slammed the allegation made by the Zeliangrong Students over the appointment of teachers under SSA and stated that  their action is totally against the welfare of the student community and the public in the district.

“Faking the name of so many organisations as their support to camouflage their ill political gimmick as mandated,” refuted the Union in a press note issued by its General Secretary Hiaranghing Ndang and President Kiesamyi Iranggaung.

The Union in the note questioned: “Where is the identity, genuineness or credits of their existence?” In regard to their claiming over the resolution on July 25, 2010 at Peren Town, no resolution was adopted nor approved; the resolution was purely against the will of the attendance in the house. “Only some vested individuals had twisted the meeting procedure and tried to cover up their evil intention”.

However, it also said that it has no argument over Zeliangrong Students’ statement as being “perplexed” but amused because “nothing more is expected of anyone who is not clear about one’s own identity in the first place”.

“…is it not shameful on your part as student leaders as to question the integrity and wisdom of someone who is heading the administration of an organized system, be it the Mission Director of SSA, Director of the department or the minister as though they are illiterates. When you point fingers alleging the policy makers as employing dirty politics, have you not realized you are trapped and at the verge of being drown of filthy politicking? A catastrophe awaits you unless you either retract or there is some one to salvage you before such political pressure cruses you along with your opportunist attitude and greed,” the note stated.

The Union also stated that it is the Zeliang tribe in Peren district which is amongst the 16 recognised tribes of Nagaland that enjoys the "legitimate right to decide and speak for the welfare of its community". The Zeliang People Organisation and the Zeliang Students’ Union are the only two organisations that enjoy this legal right and no other organisation whatsoever, need question this authority. Yet, whoever, for reasons best known to them, or not being literally existing with the community and is ignorant of this fact would do better to first, and thoroughly examine one’s stand and identity before even imagining to utter a word over ‘Public support’ these two organisations enjoy.

In regard to the Zeliangrong students "high claim" of concern for the public over the issue of appointment teachers, it is also questioned whether they are deaf and blind or complacent over other issues such as National Rural Health Mission and DRDA programmes which every sensible citizen is now pondering as important issues?

“…not desiring to drag on a paper war over an issue raised by a non-recognised organisation the Zeliang Students’ Union would final conclude by advising these individuals to wake from their slumber and experience the reality of life,” the note said.
