
Peren, October 31 (MExN): The Zeme Students’ Union (ZSU), Nagaland has served ultimatum on various PMGSY Road contractors under Peren District to resume construction work and complete it as per the undertaking (Contractors of Incomplete PMGSY Ph. VIII projects. No. CE/PMGSY/SRM/2016/1114-20, Dated Kohima the 30th August 2018.
The ultimatum is with regard to Jalukie Ahthibung road (L-021) to Nkio ‘B’ Contractor L. Pukhata Shohe & Sons, Jalukie-Khelma road (L-021) to New Nkio, Contractor M/s. Jordan Construction, JA Road Khelma to Ikiesingram, Contractor M/s Jordan Construction, Lalong to Nzauna, Contractor Akhriu & Co. and Ngam to Lalong, M/s. Regency Construction.
A press release by Aakam Pame, President and Deichungbe, Secretary (ZSU) stated that the Union in its capacity has been reminding and sought the contractors’ concern to expedite work at the earliest, but the lackadaisical attitude of the contractors toward the two areas (Nsong/Kebai-Khelma) has led to incomplete work for many years. The Union after inspection of the entire work site found it unsatisfactory, and has thus asked all the individuals, organizations, groups to co-operate and support the resumption of PMGSY road, so that immediate work will resume at the earliest.
The Union was committed to safeguard the smooth and speedy work progress. “Any party/individual trying to sabotage or disturb the developmental activities, the union will consider it as anti social elements,” the release stated and added that if any party/contractors failed to complete the work order, the ZSUN will be compelled to take its due course of action until their rights and demands were fulfilled.
The Union also urged Akhriu & Co. to substantiate his unfounded allegation to two villagers alleging of disturbances from locals at his work site, which was baseless, the release added. The union has asked Akhriu and Co. to come out and justify his stand within one-month period. Any viable solution will be anticipated but if the innocent public were taken lightly, the union stated that it will not tolerate but will fight till their rights were realised.
