DIMAPUR, MARCH 2 (MExN): The Zeliangrong Students’ Union (ZSUN) held its first executive meeting on February 22 for the year 2020 and unanimously resolveed to show zero tolerance towards those irresponsible teachers who are not regular in performing their duties.
It further said the union would not tolerate teachers who are still practicing proxy system despite so many warning from its office within Peren district.
The office while appreciating the verification drive carried out by the Directorate of School Education in the month of October and November 2019 to check proxy teachers, however expressed disappointment that it found only one teacher practicing proxy in the entire Peren district.
The union questioned the credibility of the report and asked on what basis the drive has been conducted.
A press release from the ZSUN urged its federating units to extend full cooperation in curbing the illegal practice of keeping proxy by reporting the matter to its office.
It meanwhile informed that the union would be conducting surprise visits to check the irregular teachers and teachers keeping proxies within the district. The collected reports will be submitted to the Directorate of School Education, so that actions can be initiated as per the laid down rules and regulation of the department and the state government.
