Zunheboto: 11 institutions, 3 villages, and 1 Health & Wellness Centre declared Tobacco-Free

11 institutions, 3 villages, and 1 Health and Wellness Centre in Nagaland’s Zunheboto district are officially Tobacco-Free. This was declared during the 3rd Quarterly District Level Coordination Committee (DLCC) meeting, held at the Deputy Commissioner’s conference hall, Zunheboto on November 27.

The Deputy Commissioner of Zunheboto Dharam Raj IAS urged the Zunheboto Town Council (ZTC) to work on issuing Tobacco Vendor Licence and to Geo-tag all vendors. Participation of DLCC in public events was also encouraged. He further suggested schools to engage volunteers to paint anti-tobacco messages or cartoons at school entrances or within the school premises.

The institutions declared Tobacco-Free includes St Thomas School, VK Town; GPS Vishepu; GPS Asukhomi; GPS VK; GHS Xamunuboto Kivikhu; GHS Xuviu; GHS Asuloto Asukhomi; GHS VK; Nagaland University, Lumami; Kheloshe Polytechnic Atoizu (KPA); Phoenix Taekwondo Academy

The villages and wellness centre included Rotomi village, Khrimtomi village, Akuhaito town and Rotomi village Health and Wellness Centre.
