Zunheboto, July 10 (MExN): In a step to address potential monsoon-related disasters, Deputy Commissioner and Chairman of the Zunheboto District Disaster Management Authority (ZDDMA), Rahul Bhanudas Mali (IAS), convened an emergency meeting on July 10 at the DC's conference hall. The meeting aimed to ensure thorough monsoon preparedness in the face of possible natural calamities.

During the meeting, all relevant ZDDMA line and member departments were instructed to be fully prepared and resourceful to handle any emergencies that may arise. Emphasizing the importance of vigilance, the DC stated, "It is crucial that we remain sincerely resourceful without any lapses during the impending occurrences."

The meeting resulted in the formation of the Zunheboto District Task Force, which includes members from all concerned departments. The task force, headed by EAC HQ, has been assigned the responsibility of overseeing and managing any untoward situations in and around the district. The house agreed to request the Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA) to dispatch a technical team for assessing the situation and minimizing the risk of loss of lives and properties.

Following the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner, along with members of the ZDDMA, inspected the current situation at Alahuto colony. The area has recently reported significant soil erosion and sinking. The DC and his team verified the reports to ensure that appropriate measures are taken to mitigate the risk.
