Zunheboto: Kawoto declared ‘Tobacco Free Village’

Zunheboto, November 18 (MExN): District Level Coordination Committee meeting under the National Tobacco Control Programme was held at Deputy Commissioner's conference hall on November 18. 

Kawoto village under Zunheboto district was declared as Tobacco Free Village and awarded with citations along with five Schools namely- GPS Project West, GPS Shotomi Village, GPS Aghunato, GPS Khuwaboto and Sacred Heart School, Zunheboto were declared as Tobacco Free School and awarded with citations, a DIPR report stated here. 

At the felicitation programme, Deputy Commissioner Zunheboto, Rahul Bhanudas Mali, expressed his deep concern over the excessive usage and easy feasibility of tobacco products at the district subsequently resulting to dire consequences in the future, especially to the younger generations.

He further commended Kawoto village and the schools for their achievement and appealed to the concerned stakeholders to continue their noble efforts. Other notable activities of the programme were speeches from the awarded schools and GB of Kawoto Village, Hukheto Sükhalu.
