Zunheboto: New Sub-Centres inaugurated at Yezashi, Luthsumi

Dimapur, July 29 (MExN): New Sub-Centres were inaugurated at Yezashi and Luthsumi villages under Aghunato Block of Zunheboto district on July 28.

On the occasion, guest of honour and Advisor for Food & Civil Supplies, LM & CP, and Taxes Pukhayi Sumi said that not every village fulfil the criteria to have Sub-Centres and stated that the two villages are blessed and fortunate to have the health units. He appealed to the public to utilise all the health care services available in the new sub-centres while also acknowledging the ADC and EAC of Aghunato area, the medical department, NGOs, and faith based organisations for their cooperation in making the occasion a success.

According to a press release from the DMO, Zunheboto, Dr J Hokugha Sema, DVBO & DSO Zunheboto delivered a short speech in which he stressed on the importance of community participation and contribution. He also stated that performance and effective implementation were essential in order to increase the chances of upgrading to better facilities.

A short speech was given by Rosemary Vitoli, DPM (NHM) Zunheboto; she spoke on the importance of Village Health Committee (VHC) and selection of committee members, the role and coordination of ANM, ASHA and AWW, the release stated.

Meanwhile Luthsumi village council hall-cum-guest house was also inaugurated by the Advisor. 

The programme was attended by Zhoi Lohe, SDO(C) Aghunato, Mhashumi T Ezung EAC Aghunato, medical officers, NGOs and faith based organisationa from the surrounding villages, staff under CMO and the people of Yezashi and Luthsumi villages, the release stated.
