ZUNHEBOTO, JULY 12 (MExN): Installation programme of four town councils-Zunheboto, Satakha, Aghunato and Atoizu under Zunheboto district was held on July 12 at 11 am. The programme was attended by Advisor KT Sukhalu, Advisor G Ikuto Zhimomi, MLA Er Picto Shohe, district administration, party workers, GBs and well wishers of Zunheboto district.
Newly assigned Zunheboto DPDB Chairman and MLA, Er Picto Shohe, in his short speech, thanked everyone for the peaceful completion of ULB election in the district and requested all to carry forward the same spirit in the coming general elections too, a DIPR report said.
He congratulated all the winning candidates and advised them to cooperate with one another for the upliftment of Zunheboto district. He also requested the losing candidates and their supporters to forget everything and now extent their support for the welfare of their town, words etc.
Advisor for Land Resources, G Ikuto Zhimomi, in his address, said that ULB elections in Nagaland was made possible because of the sincere efforts of the Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and that credit should be given to the ruling party. He also read the Nagaland Municipal Act 2023 to the councillors and advised them to work sincerely for the people.

Advisor for Food & Civil Supplies and Legal Metrology, KT Sukhalu IAS (Rtd ) reminded the councillors that they have a big responsibility and urged them to take up their towns problems sincerely. He also advised the new town councils, i.e, Satakha, Aghunato and Atoizu that if proper planning is not done from the beginning they will fail the trust of their people, and also their legislators who put their faith in them and gave them party tickets. He said it was not upon them to make Zunheboto district a developed district in Nagaland.
Deputy Commissioner, Rahul Bhanudas Mali read out the names of the Chairman and Deputy Chairman of the four town councils. Heroto Kawoto Sukhalu and Vihoto Zhimo were elected as the new Chairperson and Deputy Chairperson for Zunheboto Town Council; Itepu Zhimo and Vito Zhimo for Satakha Town Council; Ahokhe Achumi and Nitokhu Yeptho for Aghunato Town Council and, Kitoli and Ivuka Katty for Atoizu Town Council.
