
Dimapur, April 30 (MExN): The Eleventh General Assembly of the Zeliangrong Youth Front (ZYF) Assam, Manipur & Nagaland concluded in Jalukie town Tuesday, April 30.
Deliberating on issues facing the Zeliangrongs in the first session which was chaired by Johny Newme, Secretary ZYF (N), the ZUF has affirmed its commitment to uphold the unity of the community, protect and preserve the lives of its people, land and resources. It has also resolved to work with Zeliangrong Baudi, the apex people’s mandated organisation.
Discussing on issues pertaining to its land and resources particularly Intangki National park, ZUF has expressed apprehension over encroachers and has declared its resolute stand not to part away with even an inch of its rightful land. The meet, while reviewing its past activities and progress, reiterated the need to establish and enact strong land laws so that the rightful land and boundaries of the Zeliangrongs in the three states of Assam, Manipur and Nagaland is undisputed.
Raitu Chawang, President Zeliangrong Baudi (AMN) as Election Commissioner, chaired the second session. Titus Kamei was elected as President (AMN), Peusuibe Chuilo, Vice President (Nagaland), Marcus Kamson Vice president (Manipur) and K. Subash as General Secretary. Several officers and leaders of the community also attended the assembly.
