
WOKHA, NOVEMBER 7 (MExN): Nagaland State Governor, PB Acharya today stated that the Lotha Hoho and all the Hohos need to be united at this crucial hour and come together to ensure that permanent peace comes to Nagaland. He stated this while taking part in the Tokhu Emong festival in Wokha on November 7.
To address the needs of the state, he cited a peaceful atmosphere as essential. This he said would enable the state to march ahead, citing similar appeals made by the Union Home Minister as well.
Addressing the festival, the Governor urged the gathering to thank the farmers for their agricultural produces and thank our almighty for all his blessings. He called upon the people to understand the real significance of the festival and march ahead.
Meanwhile, he stated that Naga people are mostly known only because of their rich culture. It is high time now to showcase Nagaland as a vibrant Nagaland as God has blessed us with all the talents not only in dance and drama but in every aspect of life, the Governor said.
He stated that Wokha is blessed with plenty of natural resources, and called for efforts to make the best use of these resources. He further cited education, electricity and employment as three crucial areas for any society or nation to be prosperous. Earlier, the Governor also released the Tokhu booklet. O Shilu Jamir, Vice President, Central Nagaland Tribes Council delivered a short speech. The Lotha Hoho meanwhile submitted a memorandum to the Governor for declaration of the Golaghat-Wokha-Bokajan Road as a National Highway.
