Condolences pour in for former Minister T Talinungsang

Dimapur, February 12 (MExN): Various leaders and political parties have mourned the demise of former Minister, T Talinungsang who passed away on February 12 after a prolonged illness.

 

Deputy CM: Deputy Chief Minister and Nagaland BJP Legislative Party (BLP) Leader, Y Patton said, “T Tali was immensely loved by the people, which is evident from that fact that he was elected to represent the people of Tuli Assembly Constituency for a record five times between 1977 and 2003.” A condolence message from Media Cell, Deputy CMO stated that his passing away has definitely left a void, but his good deeds for the well being of the people, will continue to stay with us for the years to come. “He will always be remembered for his foresight, compassion, and commitment for the welfare of the people.” Patton on behalf of the BJP Legislators extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed that his soul find eternal peace.

 

NLA Speaker: “Tali was a humble and a visionary man who worked diligently for the welfare and upliftment of his Constituency and for the people of Nagaland,” stated a condolence message from Speaker, Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) Sharingain Longkumer. His death has caused a great loss to the Nagas in general and the Ao Community in particular and the void created by him will be difficult to fill, the message added. Longkumer on his own behalf and on behalf of the members of the 13th NLA conveyed condolences to his wife, children and the loved ones. Longkumer prayed that “the Almighty God” grant them solace and comfort at this hour of grief and for the departed soul to rest in peace.

 

MP, Lok Sabha: Member of Parliament (MP) Lok Sabha, Tokheho Yepthomi said he had the opportunity to work with him as Members of Nagaland Legislative Assembly. In a condolence message, Yepthomi said T Tali was a humble person who dedicated his time and service for his constituents and people of Nagaland. “His election to NLA five times over decades in the political arena is proof of his dedication and concern for the people of Nagaland. We worked together both in the treasury and opposition bench.” In both places, his zeal and dedication remained the same, the message read. Yepthomi conveyed condolences to his family and prayed that God will grant them strength to face this hour of grief and for the departed soul to rest in peace. 

 

NDPP President: NDPP President Chingwang Konyak described the former Minister as “an affable and simple person.” He was the epitome of simple living, high standard. “Soft-spoken and never one to lose his cool easily, he was dearly loved by young and old of the Constituency,” the condolence message read. Konyak opined that the younger generation of political leaders should take a leaf out of his political life and personality while serving the people. “In his passing away, we Nagas have lost a great personality and leader.” The rank and file of the NDPP joined Konyak in conveying heartfelt sympathies and condolences to the members of the bereaved family. It prayed for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.

 

NPCC President: “Tali was a fearless political leader. He fought well his battles for common values and did not let down his people. He stood firm on secular ideologies and was a dedicated Congressman who constantly worked not only for the uplift of the people but also for the betterment of the Party,” read a condolence message from NPCC President, K Therie. In the loss, “Nagaland has lost a diamond to dust,” Therie added. All rank and file of the Congress Party conveyed deepest condolences and prayed that the Almighty God be their comfort through this time of painful parting. It further prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
