Designers from Nagaland showcase talent

North East Institute of Fashion Technology (Neift) believes in promoting the Art, Culture, Talents in various fields of the NER in International & National Arena. It’s a sincere goal & dream of NEIFT to create a positive brand image of the north east to the mainstream world and to make this dream a reality, NEIFT annually organizes a mega event to showcase the talents of its students coming from various states like, Nagaland, Assam, Manipur, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh, etc and its called the NEIFT Annual Design Ceremony.
Recently all the roads of New Delhi headed towards the exotic venue of Dilli Hut, INA which is true representation of mini India. At the strike of 7 in the evening the emcee welcomed the gatherings and highlighted the aims & objectives of the event to the invited audience, comprising of the Media, Top Bureaucrats, Industry Captains, Designers, NGO’s, SHG’s, Etc. She invited the CEO of Neift, Vikram Rai Medhi onto the stage to address the gathering. Rai Medhi also expressed his gratitude to the title sponsors Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India for coming forward and supporting the event which will on the long run present the NER, as a destination offering vivid & exquisite places of interest to the international traveler.
Each designer displayed various theme oriented collections which were a true testimony to the talents and potentials of the young minds of the NER. Talented final pass-out students of NEIFT from Nagaland Hyulonyu Rengma started the show with his much appreciated theme-‘CYCLE OF LIFE’ which was followed by Kohima boy- Thejasevor Sekhose presenting his collection -                                   ‘COLOURED TEMPTATION’ which created a riot of colours in the majestic 100 feet Ramp!
Fusion creates new stories and new statements in Fashion and very aptly ‘FUSION OF HUES’ was the Theme by designer Sekuzo Sovenyi from Nagaland. These collections & ensemble were displayed by super models of the country along with international models from Brazil, Poland, Russia and Ukraine. After every collection it was the proud moment for the young designers to come out with the models to take their ceremony bow.
In the finale, the CEO-NEIFT thanked all esteemed organizations & individual responsible in putting up the prestigious event. one feels that events of this nature will remove the mental block from the tourists that the ner is a disturbed area & one can see that the tourism & textile sector will grow rapidly in future if all like minded people come together to highlight the north east- paradise unexplored!
