Dimapur DC holds meeting on rate fixation for masks & hand sanitisers

DIMAPUR, MARCH 16 (MExN): The Dimapur Deputy Commissioner, Anoop Khinchi, IAS, today held a meeting on fixation of rates for surgical masks and hand sanitisers. 


During the meeting, it was discussed that surgical masks and hand sanitizers are to be sold at MRP rates. Whole sellers and retailers were directed to put up boards displaying rates for the selling of masks.


The DC meanwhile requested the Nagaland Medicine Dealers Association (NMDA) to keep sufficient stock of these commodities. He further stated that hand sanitizers and surgical face masks have been declared essential commodities by the Government of India and therefore, warned retailers that non adherence to the official fixed rate would invite action as per the provisions of the law which includes fine and imprisonment up to 7 years.


The meeting saw the attendance of V Lovitoly Sema, ADC Dimapur; Dr. Antoly Suu, Deputy CMO; C Thungchanbeni, Assistant Drug Controller, Dimapur; and the NDMA represented by its president, Ato Yeptho and his colleagues.
