ENCSU resumes 3rd phase of protest

Kohima, December 3 (MExN): The Eastern Nagaland College Students' Union (ENCSU) resumed its third phase of protest in Kohima on December 1 with students taking active part in showing resentment to the State Government and the Higher Education Department for being unable to disburse the full amount of scholarship for the current year.

The Union in a press release maintained that it will continue with its protest until the scholarship is released in full amount. “We are ready to resort extreme course of action if the Government and the Department fails to fulfill our demands immediately,” the ENCSU stated and added that the union should not be held responsible for any unwanted situation arising during the course of action.

Meanwhile, the ENCSU has also demanded that the State Government publicize the SIT report immediately since the two week deadline set by the Cabinet has expired.

The ENCSU further asked the Department of Higher Education to come clean with proper papers as evidence and resolve the issue once and for all.

Claiming that the Cabinet has already admitted to misuse of Scholarship for the years 2016-17 by the Department, the union insisted that there should be no confusion with the “propaganda” being spread by “selfish and unethical people to achieve their personal desires”.
