Dimapur, May 18 (MExN): The Government Polytechnic Seithekema C, Dimapur, under the theme ‘Green Campus’ organized a tree plantation day on May 15. The Principal, Er. Zhapulhoulie Rupreo in a press release stated that this was an advance commemoration of the ‘World Environment Day’ which falls on June 5.
The program was attended by Imkongsunep, Range Officer, Department of Forest, Chumoukedima, Dimapur and his other Officers. The Range Officer in his key note address highlighted the importance of planting trees. He also elaborated the percentage of forest coverage in different districts of Nagaland. Earlier, a short speech was delivered by Er. Zhapulhoulie Rupreo, Principal, Govt. Polytechnic Seithekema C, Dimapur. About 400 tree saplings of different types were planted within the Polytechnic Campus with active participation of Officials from Forest Dept. and the Polytechnic family. The tree saplings were provided by the Range Officer, Chümoukedima, Dimapur.
