Bumblebee Inclusive School, Upper Agri Colony, Kohima is organizing Harvest- an annual art exhibition of artworks produced by the students over the year on November 14 at 10:30 AM at the school premises.


With his wife, Vikhor Tepa had been trying to help special children with different difficulties with remedial classes, phonics and art.


As part of these initiative, the school is organizing an art exhibition of children from its school to acknowledge and give recognition to their works.


Tepa said that the artworks are the results of a year-long art classes conducted in the school periodically.


The main aim of the Art class is to enhance imaginative thinking and to let children freely express themselves without boundaries.


Each individual work produced is acknowledged and appreciated irrespective of how ' a circle looks like and oval or a square like a rectangle or any other shape in the eye of the viewer.


This annual exhibition is organized specifically to give dignity to their works and efforts, said Tepa.


Children are most courageous and creative when they create art as there are no strict rules as to how something should be made or created.


This freedom opens up their mind to take risks. With this in mind, as much as technical knowledge is imparted, our focus remains broadening their creativity and enforcing confidence in their efforts and works, Tepa said.


The artworks displayed for this edition of ' Harvest ' is a diverse show of style, technique, color palette etc. As observed the years, the exhibits which best represents freedom and creativity.


“We hope that through this event, all of us will harvest something,” said Tepa.


Bumblebee Inclusive School, established in 2012 for ages 2 and above with its motto “igniting young minds aims to provide children with a holistic development programme.”


Bumblebee Inclusive School believes that education should be child centric and fun.


Keeping in mind that education should be holistic in nature, we look beyond just teaching to read and write. At Bumblebee, we help children develop skills to comprehend, imagine, problem solve, perceive, think, etc. Inclusion and sensitization are also an integral part in our learning, Bumblebee Inclusive School stated in its brochure.
