Kohima College celebrates 51st annual parting social

Kohima, March 8 (MExN): Kohima College, Kohima (KCK) celebrated its 51st annual parting social on March 7 outside the college courtyard with the principal, Dr. Watijungshi Jamir as the speaker.  

The event began with silent prayer in memory of Awale and Nyangpong, two students of the college who passed away recently.  

The college musical group gave a melodious rendition of ‘Bridge over Troubled Water’, led by their teacher Dr. Neikehienuo Mepfhüo. This was followed by speeches from Bikram Male on behalf of the outgoing students and Khrüvotalü Ringa on behalf of the current students. An annual report was presented by Nütalü Keyho, Assistant General Secretary, Kohima College Students’ Union. A special time of presentation was led by Lily Angami, KCK faculty & Convenor, Students’ Welfare Committee.  

A press release informed that the Student of the Year was awarded to outgoing student Vimeyiekho Vitso, while the Best Class Representative was awarded to Veyevo. The Students’ Choice of the year for teaching faculty went to Dr. Eunice Alinger, while Ministerial Staff award was given to Paul Achumi.  

The gathering was then enthralled by a special song for Kohima College by musicians from Music Academy Kohima (MAK). The musical piece was composed and arranged by Khyochano Ngully and Theyiesinuo Keditsu. Thereafter, the principal released the annual college magazine.
