A Nagamese film titled ‘Load’ was released on Thursday, May 5. The full length feature is a conception of ‘Shiyeli, Richard Production’ and was written, produced and directed by Akash.
The movie was premiered today at Bookmarc Conference Hall (opposite Super Market), Dimapur. MLA & chairman Marcofed, CL John attended the formal release programme as the chief guest where it was screened to the public for the first time.
Addressing the audience before the screening John acknowledged that the movie business here is struggling, almost non-existent, yet persuaded the people in the profession not to get discouraged. He encouraged them to be determined as well as consistent in their chosen field and try and make it big one day.
He held that Nagamese as a borrowed dialect may have its share of criticism, nevertheless opined that it is like a binding factor, like it or not, for the various Naga tribes. Drawing a parallel with Christianity, he averred that Nagamese and Christianity are God’s gift to the Nagas, both unifying forces. Just as Christianity had brought the Nagas together so is Nagamese, to some extend, playing a similar role today, he said.
