Two tough contending teams in the ongoing MDFA Trophy 2018, Grand Elites and Zonipang secured easy wins against their opponents on October 17.
In the first match between Grand Elites SC beat Unicorn FC 2-0. L Temjen continued his goal scoring spree by scoring two goals in the 26th and 33rd minute of the first half. Unicorn FC struggled throughout the game to score.
The second match OCYU lost to Zonipang SA 2-0 with Zonipang winning all three of the league matches and putting them through to the quarter finals. The defending champions proved too strong for the OCYU players. Suponglemba and Nungshisashi scored the two goals of the game in the 15th and 49th minutes.
Alempang YA meanwhile won against Hills XI FC 3-1 in the last match. All three goals were scored in the first half of the game by Tayongmaong, Yangerjungba and Imkongyanger in the 13th, 14th and 24th minute. Moaakum of Hills XI FC scored the only goal for his team in the 57th minute.
With just one win game in the league matches, Alempang YA have failed to qualify for the quarter finals. Hills XI FC also are out of the tournament with two losses and a draw in the league matches.
