Kohima, February 1 (MExN): A national seminar on the theme ‘Intercultural thinking: A Way Forward for Diverse Living’ was held at St Joseph’s College (Autonomous), Jakhama.

Organised by St Joseph’s College and Kohima College, the seminar is sponsored by Indian Council of Philosophical Research (ICPR), New Delhi and Indian Council of Social Science Research - North Eastern Regional Centre (ICSSR-NERC), Shillong. This was stated in a press release issued by Mass Media Cell, Kohima College.

The keynote speaker for the inaugural session held on January 30, was Prof Anthony Savari Raj, Professor and Head Department of Philosophy, Manipal University, Jaipur, and former Indian Council of Cultural Relation (ICCR) Chair of Indian Studies, (Under Ministry of External Affairs, GoI), University of the West Indies, Jamaica. 

The inaugural session commenced with an invocation by Dr Ketoukhrie-ü, Assistant Professor, KCK, followed by the welcome address by Dr Fr George Keuolhou Angami, Principal, SJC. The felicitation was delivered by Dr M Libanthung Ngullie, Principal, KCK, and vote of thanks by Dr Eunice Alinger, Assistant Professor, KCK. 

The programme was chaired by Dr Dominic Meyieho, Exam Controller, SJC, the release stated. 

At the valedictory session, Dr Medongoi Rhakho, Deputy Director (Academics), Higher Education Government of Nagaland was the guest of honour. 

The two-day seminar consisted of five technical sessions with presentation of 20 papers by various scholars followed by Q&A/discussions after each of the sessions.
