RPF-NFR arrests 6 Rohingyas

Guwahati, August 29 (MExN): The Railway Protection Force (RPF) of the Northeast Frontier Railway (RPF-NFR) apprehended 6 Rohingyas on August 28 from Dharmanagar Railway Station, informed on official release. 

A joint team of RPF and GRP detected them during a routine checking and as they could not produce any valid documents during interrogation, they were arrested, maintained the release from NFR CPRO. 

Later, they revealed that they entered India illegally and were residing at refugee camps near Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh, it added.  They were later handed over to Officer In-charge/Government Railway Police/Dharmanagar for further legal action. As per the release, from January 2023 till August 28, 2023, a total of 232 “illegal migrants” have been apprehended RPF-NFR, it added.
