Ministers’ Hill Baptist HSS wins inaugural match

The 2nd edition of Kohima District Inter School Football Tournament got underway here today at Khuochiezie (Kohima Local Ground).
Ministers' Hill Baptist Higher Secondary School Kohima downed Khedi Baptist Higher Secondary School 4 – 2 in the inaugural match.
Hoichilung netted first goal for MHBHSS in the 4th minute while Ruopfiikhrietuo inked hattrick in 30th, 32nd and 85th minute.
Two goals in favour for Khedi Baptist Higher Secondary School came through Dzieseneizo in 53rd and 67th minute.
Earlier, gracing the inaugural function as patron, MLA Khriehu Liezietsu wanted to see that this tournament not only be a competition platform but to promote unity and better understanding among the educational institution within Kohima district.
He was hopeful that the tournament will produce many young promising players in the coming days.
Liezietsu was appreciative that Royal Club Kohima has been making its earnest effort towards promotion of football in Nagaland.
Stating that sports is one of the biggest industry in the world today, he encouraged the youth make it as a career.
Earlier, welcome address was delivered by Er. Khupi Natso, convenor organizing committee while administration of oath was administered by organizing committee secretary Vichiihu Liezietsu.
The inaugural function was compered by Kenny Peseyie and Atuno Neikha.
30 schools joined this tournament which would conclude on July 9.
The Champion will win a cash prize of Rs. 70,000 while the runners-up will get Rs. 50,000.
Semi finalists will also get Rs. 20,000 each.
