TB Forum, DAPCU Peren discuss activities

Peren, September 28 (MExN): The Peren District Tuberculosis (TB) Forum meeting was held on September 26 at the Deputy Commissioner Conference Hall, New Headquarter, Peren.  

Dr Yartenla, District TB Officer Peren highlighted the details of the formation of the District TB Forum. She presented a PowerPoint on Revised National Tuberculosis Programme (RNTCP) activities and services in the District.  

In her presentation, Dr Yartenla highlighted the RNTCP infrastructure, NIKSHAY entry status, microbiologically confirmed cases outcome (retreatment), trend in MDR cases detected and treated and also stated that nutritional beneficiaries for TB patients from April 2018 and the NGOS/PP involvement in the district.  

Rovi Mor, District Program Manager, District Aids Prevention Control Unit (DAPCU) Peren in his PowerPoint presentation highlighted the formation of DAPCU and its aims and objectives.   He briefed HIV testing & positivity status, prevalence of HIV positive among women and HIV Positive General population, IDU positive detected, PLHIV alive on ART status and OST status.  

Further, he presented on the district initiative for PLHIV stating that this initiative is to help the poor patients with the travel cost where 15 PLHIV have received the benefit in this financial year.   So also with the Empower initiative since 2013, all together 56 children received the sponsorship support in the schools.  

The Program Manager also stated that with the aim to improve skill and provide livelihood for PHLIV and HRG, DAPCU coordinated with Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI) Jalukie for various training in their institute.  

Highlighting various sensitization and awareness program held in the district, Mor called upon all the members to disseminate awareness about HIV/AIDS, its prevention and why this matters and how HIV’s impact the community and to provide support to people living with HIV/AIDS.  

TB cured patient also shared testimony.  

The programme was chaired by Deputy Commissioner and Chairman, District Task Force Committee, S Tainiu. She called upon all the members to work with sincerity and provide better and quality service to the people. The meeting concluded with discussion hour.  

District Planning Officer, Assistant Public Prosecutor, Deputy Chief Medical officer, staffs of Chief Medical Office: NHM, RNTCP, and DAPCU, representatives from NGO’s, PLHIV and cured TB patient attended the meeting.
