Dimapur, June 14 (MExN): The Naga Students' Union Bengaluru (NSUB) organised a prayer and candlelight vigil at Paalana Bhavana in Benson Town, Bengaluru, on June 13 to honour the memory of eight Naga victims who lost their lives amid the ongoing situation in Manipur.
According to a press release from the union, more than 450 people attended the vigil, including members of the Naga community, church leaders, student organisations, representatives of the Karnataka Meitei Association, and well-wishers from across Bengaluru.
The gathering served as a platform for remembrance, solidarity and collective mourning, while extending support to the bereaved families. Messages shared during the programme focused on peace, hope, unity and resilience in the face of the ongoing crisis.
Speaking on the occasion, the NSUB office stated, "This vigil reflects our shared grief and unwavering solidarity with the affected families. As we gather in prayer and remembrance, we call for justice, healing, and a peaceful resolution that safeguards the dignity and well-being of all communities."
The union also acknowledged the support of the Zeliangrong Students' Union Bangalore (ZSUB), expressing appreciation for its contribution of time, effort and resources towards the successful organisation of the event.
