The ratio government employee to population 1:20

There were 1, 25, 309 government employees in Nagaland as of March 31, 2014, out of the total population of 19, 80, 602, a top state official said on Wednesday.
The expenditure on payment of government salary stood Rs. 3050.29 crore as per the official.
The figures were disclosed by Kikheto Y Sema, Secretary Land Resources, and Government of Nagaland while interacting with the NCS probationers on the topic “Overview of State Finances and Its Sustainability” here at ATI on November 1.
Accordingly, the ratio government employee to population stood at 1:20.
The 12 departments with highest employees includes; School Education - 27, 278, Civil Police- 26, 853, Medical- 8604, Social Welfare – 7634, Roads & Bridges- 5268, District Administration - 4118, Power- 2881, Housing- 2545, Civil Secretariat – 2349, Water Supply (PHE)- 1659, Veterinary & AH- 1616 And Agriculture- 1588.
Government employees in other 70 departments stood 32, 916 as on 31.03. 2014, he further informed.
