Dimapur, February 27 (MExN): The 1 Assam Rifles has inaugurated two Sintex tanks of 5000 litre capacity each, at Pesao Village, Mon district on February 16 last. The project was executed by 1 Assam Rifles, as part of DGAR Civic Action Proj under the aegis of Headquarter 7 Sector Assam Rifles.
A press note issued by Lt Col RP Velu, PRO, IGAR (N) stated that the people of Pesao village expressed their heartfelt gratitude to 1 Assam Rifles for doing a magnificent job and completing the project in the shortest possible time. The note also informed that there is no provision of water storage at Pesao village, and thus there is scarcity of water during summer season. The Sintex tank will immensely benefit the people for storage of water and solve their longstanding water problem. A large number of populations of the adjoining areas will also be benefited from this project. Meanwhile, 1 Assam Rifles assured villagers for further help and were also encouraged to maintain a strong bond with the Assam Rifles.
