Dimapur, January 11 (MExN): A total of 108 individuals were arrested and 866 bottles of IMFL & Beer were detected during the month of December by Superintendent of Excise Mobile Squad Dimapur, an excise department officcial informed today.
They were booked under relevant NPLT Act 1989 and the seized articles were deposited in the of Excise Mobile Squad Malkana, the Superintendent of Excise (MS), Katoho Sumi added in a press note. It further maintained that information relating to transportation and stock of illegal liquor and drugs from any quarter will be highly appreciated and acted upon promptly by the unit.
Special Surveillance Team arrest one
Meanwhile, the Superintendent of Excise Mobile Squad Dimapur Special Surveillance Team lead by AIE Rukhriezetuo arrested one person on possession of 24 bottles of beer, 24 bottles of rum and 24 bottles of whiskey. The Excise official indentified the accused as Lati Thepa, a resident of 6th mile Dimapur. He was booked under relevant NPLT Act and the seized articles were deposited in the of Excise Mobile Squad Malkana.
