Kohima, June 2 (MExN): The Governor of Nagaland La Ganesan and along with Raj Bhavan officers and staff, and Telugu community in Nagaland celebrated the 10th Telangana Foundation day at Dr Imkongliba Ao Hall, Raj Bhavan, Kohima on June 2.
Addressing the occasion, the Governor extended his greetings to the people of Telangana and Telugu community. A press release issued by PRO Raj Bhavan, Kohima stated that the Governor hoped the exposure to cultures, traditions and practices of different states and UTs will lead to an enhanced understanding and bonding between the states, there by strengthening the unity and integrity of India through this celebration.
He informed that this programme is an initiative towards mitigating this lack of awareness of various cultures and also respecting and acknowledging the diversity and plurality of India. “This aims is to celebrate the people of that particular state wherever they are residing in the country,” he said.
He mentioned that the state of Telangana was officially formed on June 2, 2014. He also highlighted a boast of significant achievements on the water, agriculture, power supply fronts, health care and their GSDP. ‘Nagaland state has so many lessons to learn from Telangana,’ the Governor remarked. Further, he urged the Telugu community to contribute much to the state of Nagaland as they make Nagaland their second home.
Secretary to Governor, Rajesh Soundarararjan IAS in the welcome addressed said that the Nagaland state has organized this programme at Raj Bhavan as per Government of India directions Deputy Director of Agriculture, Government of Telangana (Retd) Rajentra Rao shared on how Telangana established its state. During the celebration, Telugu cultural song was presented by G Mohan Rao and M Hemalath while Telugu cultural dance was performed by B Bhoomika & Group and B Akshay & Group.
