11 new COVID-19 cases; State’s tally at 36

Dimapur, May 30 (MExN): Nagaland recorded 11 new cases of COVID-19 on May 30 bringing the state’s total number of active cases to 36.


All the active cases are related to the Shramik special train from Chennai that reached the state on May 22.


Out of the 36 COVID-19 positive cases, Dimapur has reported 22 cases, Kohima with 9 cases and Tuensang with 5 cases. All the positive persons are being kept under medical observation at the designated COVID-19 Hospitals and active surveillance is going on to prevent further spreading of the infection, according to Principal Secretary, Home, Abhijit Sinha.


Till date, a total of 2,210 samples have been tested out of which results of 1,429 samples have tested negative.  36 samples tested positive while results for 745 samples are awaited.  


Sinha also informed that a total of 3,493 persons are presently under Facility Quarantine throughout the state.
