Kohima, October 28 (MExN): The fixture for the upcoming 11th Kohima Open Volleyball Tournament 2024 (Men & Women) was drawn today at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima.
The tournament will take place from October 30 to November 1 under the theme “Transcending through Sports” at Hockey Ground, Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima.
The organiser-Kohima District Volleyball Association (KDVA) informed that 12 teams will be vying for coveted champion title in Men’s category.
In Men’s category, Pool A consists; Senapati Sporting Club, Küsoma Youth Society, Mima and Team Keziekie, Kohima.
Pool B: Japfü Range Volleyball Club, Kiruphema Youth Organisation - Team A and Mezoma Youth Organisation.
Pool C: Blind Spikers Akuluto - V.K, Michazou Jr. Mima and Japfü Christian College, Kigwema
Pool D: Kiruphema Youth Organisation-Team B, Bond of Brother (BoB) Chesezu and T.K.K Jotsoma.
In Men’s Category, opening match will be played between defending champion Senapati Sporting Club against Küsoma Youth Society, Mima.
Five teams will compete for Women’s category. It includes; Senapati Sporting Club, Team Ace, Kohima, NAYSA-D, Shürho Mountain Club, Kigwema and MADFA, Dimapur.
In women’s category, the matches will be played in a round-robin league system.
The opening match will be played between defending champion Senapati Sporting Club against Team Ace, Kohima.
Meanwhile, Kethosituo Sekhose, NCS, Director, Youth Resources & Sports, Government of Nagaland will grace the inaugural function as the special guest while Roko Angami, OSD (Sports), Department of Youth Resources & Sports, Government of Nagaland and former international football player will be the special guest at the closing function.
The inaugural function on October 30 will start from 10:00 AM onwards.
