
DIMAPUR, JULY 19 (MExN): The North East Traditional Healers Association (NETHA) and Nagaland Traditional Healer's Association (NTHA) has thanked the NECU, an empanelled body, for recognizing and certifying traditional healers of the North East States.
“In an effort to revitalize dying folkarts of our foreparents, Government of India has introduced a scheme called VSTCHP. Under this programme 12 more traditional healers from Tuensang district were certified this month by NECU empanelled body,” informed a press release from the NETHA President, Dr Y Hesheto Chishi.
Traditional Community Healthcare Provider (TCHP) Certification programme of Quality Council of India (QCI) New Delhi has been actively engaged in the certification programme. All together Nagaland has 26 certified traditional healers, 14 from Dimapur and 12 from Tuensang, highest among the North East States.
The 4th batch of NECU, Traditional Community Healthcare Provider (TCHP) certification programme of QCI, New Delhi was conducted in the month of February for Tuensang District Nagaland. 12 successful Traditional Healers qualified for Common ailments, Arthritis, and Bone setting domains.
The twelve certified traditional healers include: L Imkong Chuba Chang, B Pujei, Moshasipang, H Samuel, Sipong Chang, N Pushia, Imjimog Sangtam, Supeng Khiamniungan, S Pujie, Ako Chang, Kundang, and Bumei Yanuba.
