KOHIMA, NOVEMBER 10 (MExN): The 13th Assam Rifles took a proactive step in addressing the pervasive issue of drug addiction by organizing an Anti-Drug Campaign at Modern Higher Secondary School, Kohima on November 10.
Brigadier Herjinder Singh, Commander of 5 Sector Assam Rifles, underscored the gravity of drug addiction in his address, emphasizing that it transcends borders and adversely affects both individuals and society at large, a DIPR report stated.

He urged collective action to combat this menace, emphasizing the importance of raising awareness and actively working towards practical solutions. Brigadier Singh also stressed the significance of community engagement in addressing issues related to drug addiction.

Guest speaker, Anupam Rohit from Recovery Wellness Society, Guwahati, shared his personal journey as a recovering addict, shedding light on the profound effects of substance abuse on individuals and families. Rohit encouraged the attending students to steer clear of drugs and choose a path towards a happy and clean life.
