Fourteen contestants will be vying for the upcoming Miss Nagaland Beauty Pageant 2019 slated for December 9.
It will be held under the aegis of Beauty & Aesthetics Society of Nagaland (BASN) as part of Hornbill Festival of Nagaland at Regional Centre for Excellence in Music & Performing Arts (RCEMPA), Jotsoma from 6:00 PM onwards.
BASN today announced the semi finalists as; Gimlule, Kevilenuo Miachieo, Neisavono Zashümo, Vikuonuo Sachü, Keneizono Nagi, Limasenla Jamir, Khrielievinuo Suohu, Ketuniphre-e Gwirie, Shefiivi Pfithu, Nengneichin Hangsing, Imnasangla Ao, Viphrotsüno Kehie, Nlumpeule and Akumla Imsong.
They were selected after a series of screening, said BASN officials while addressing a press conference here today at Symphony Café.
BASN member Neitho Khamo told the press conference that more than 50 girls from various parts of the state auditioned out of which 11 were selected for the grand finales along with 3 district title winners.
The grand finale on December 9, will witness the semi-finalists competing in 3 different rounds namely ethnic round, designer wear round and evening gown round. The contestants will also be judged based on their answers during the interview rounds and for which there will be an expertise panel of judges.
Miss Nagaland 2019 will receive a cash prize of Rs. 1.50 lakh. Ist and 2nd runners up will get Rs. 1 lakh and Rs. 70,000 respectively. Sub-title winners will get Rs. 10,000 each.
The grooming sessions will start from December 2 till 8.
They will be groomed by Chow Poran J. Gogoi, Beauty Pageant Coach & Fashion Choreographer & Talent Promoter, North East India. Theyiesinuo Keditsu- co-founder Center for Indigenous Knowledge & Alternative Learning (CIKAL), Nuneseno Chase- Head, Training and Development, Youthnet and Global Shapers Nagaland will be the resource persons for grooming session.
The sponsors for grooming session includes; Trig Empowering Institute Guwahati, Kekhro Smile Foundation, Oriental Fitness & Spa and 4Life.
FBB Colors Femina Miss India Assam 2018 Sunaina Kamath will be the special guest judge. The event will be hosted by Mengu Suokhrie.
The show will also witness performance by acclaimed folktronic group ‘Run Monday Run’ among many others.
The event is powered by Department of Tourism, Government of Nagaland with RCEMPA as the venue partner and 4Life as co-sponsor.
