14th M Noke Trophy kicks off in Mon

Teams, organizers and dignitaries during the opening day of the M Noke Trophy on October 15.

DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 15 (MExN): The 14th M Noke Trophy inter club football tournament organized by the Mon District Football Association (MDFA) kicked off today at the local ground Mon Town. 

The inaugural programme was graced by Methlow Konyak, Contractor as a special guest. The welcome address was delivered by Manjun, President, MDFA. The guest in his speech encouraged and challenged the youths of Mon District to display their skills and talents and further wish the association success for the tournament.

In the first match of the day, defending champions Unity Meinlong defeated Concern Chee Forum (CCF) 5 – 1. 

Y. Langphong scored two goals, while Lima, Angki and Menguzelie scored one each for Unity Meinlong. The solitary goal for CCF came through the boots of Khampei. 

In the second match, Marvericks FC defeated Sporto FC 2–1. David and Hechang  scored a goal each for Mavericks FC and Wangpai scored one for Sporto FC.
