157 new cases in Nagaland, 39 recoveries

Dimapur, October 22 (MExN): Nagaland reported 157 new COVID-19 cases from six districts, taking the state’s tally to 8,296 on Thursday.

The new cases were from Dimapur- 119, Kohima- 30, Peren- 3, Mokokchung- 2, Kiphire- 2 and Mon- 1.

According to the daily bulletin issued by the Health and Family Welfare Department, 39 patients also recovered from the disease, taking the total number of recoveries in the state to 6,399.

The recoveries were reported from Dimapur- 22, Peren- 10 and Kohima 7. 

As per the bulletin, the state has 1,798 active cases as of 3:00 pm, October 22, of which 1,716 are asymptomatic, 60 are mild, 15 are moderate on oxygen, 4 are sever on oxygen and 3 are on ventilators. 

The state has recorded 29 deaths out of which 6 are ‘not COVID related’ and one is under investigation by the state death review committee. At least 70 positive cases have migrated from the state. 

The distribution of confirmed cases across various categories of people is as follows: 3,699 cases of Armed Forces/ Police, 1,625 cases of Returnees, 2,575 cases of Traced Contacts and 397 cases of Frontline Workers.

Among the districts, Dimapur has the highest number of active cases with 1,310, followed by Kohima- 321, Mokokchung – 59, Mon-55, Peren-21, Tuensang-19, Zunheboto- 7, Longleng-3, Kiphire-3 while Wokha and Phek have zero active cases. 

According to the health department data, a cumulative total of 58,866 samples have been sent for testing through RT-PCR and results of 57,747 samples have been received.

In addition, a total 32,289 samples have been sent for testing on Truenat and results of 32,228 samples have been received. 3,406 samples have been tested through Rapid Antigen Test.
