16 NWA wrestlers selected to represent India at Asian Belt Wrestling Championship 2025

DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 21 (MExN): Sixteen wrestlers from the Nagaland Wrestling Association (NWA) have been selected to represent India at the upcoming Asian Belt Wrestling Championship 2025. The national qualifiers were held on October 19 and 20, 2024, at Chhatrasal Stadium, New Delhi, where 20 NWA wrestlers competed for spots on the Indian team. The championship is scheduled to take place in February 2025 in Kohima.

In the Belt Wrestling Freestyle (Men) category, the selected athletes are Lhüpra Vero (60 kg), Rokuokehie Khawakhrie (70 kg), Küvenü Puro (80 kg), Hülüyi D. Vadeo (90 kg), Venuzo Dawhuo (100 kg), and Rukukhoto Khusoh (100+ kg).

For Belt Wrestling Freestyle (Women), the selected wrestlers are Vetavolü Puyo-o (60 kg), Thejaneinuo Thevo (75 kg), and Khrielhounuo Thevo (75+ kg).

In the Belt Wrestling Classic Style (Men), the athletes selected are Wezutsho Venuh (60 kg), Külüvezo Soho (70 kg), Seyiejalie Gwirie (80 kg), Vevokho Ruho (90 kg), and Menuosetuo Yiese (100+ kg).

For Belt Wrestling Classic Style (Women), Haizuyile (65 kg) and Vikehenuo Zumvü (75+ kg) secured their spots on the team.
The NWA team is being led by NWA President Vivolie Kezo, with coaches Sürhoneyi Soho and Seyielhoukho Sechü guiding the athletes as they prepare for the international championship.
