Mokokchung, September 17 (MExN): The Mokokchung District Volleyball Association is set to organize the 16th edition of the Imchaba Masters Memorial Nagaland Open Volleyball Trophy from September 19 till 22 at Multi-purpose Sports Complex, Mokokchung.
Lakhi Longkumer, Convenor, Organizing Committee informed through a press statement that the 16th edition will see 19 teams eyeing for the coveted trophy. Celebrated as one of the most awaited trophies in the game of volleyball, this year’s champion will walk away with a cash prize of INR 80,000 with a running trophy and certificates while the first runner-up will be awarded a cash prize of INR 50,000 along with certificates while the third and fourth runner-up will be awarded a cash prize of INR 30000 and INR 20000. Individual awards will also be given.
Chienino Brothers, Kiruphema, Archippus Club, Dimapur, United Changki, G-Sports, Mokokchung, Ozümi Volleyball Team, Mongsenbai and Rongpang Club, Tsürangkong will be the new entrants to the tournament. The inaugural function will be held on 19 September from 10:00 am onwards with Col. Rahul Gurung, Kirti Chakra, Commandant, 12 Assam Rifles, Mokokchung as the inaugural patron.
The first match of the tournament will be played between Spartan Club, Lakhuni and Chienino Brothers, Kiruphema, Kohima.
