October 13 matches Pre-quarters Nagaland Police (Blue) Vs Naga Hospital Colony YO @ 12:00 pm Forerunners 4th NAP Vs Billy Graham FC @ 1:30 pm Faith SC 'debarred' for two consecutive editions Kohima, October 12 (MExN): The Organizing Committee of the 17th Edition of the NSF Martyrs Memorial 2016 today debarred Faith Sporting Club, Dimapur for two consecutive editions of the trophy for “unsporting behavior”. The Organizing Committee in a press statement maintained that it was “appalled and utterly dismayed” at what it called “unsporting behavior” of Faith Sporting Club, Dimapur who failed to turn up for their match against the Meriema Youth Organization on October 8 “without any official intimation”. Meriema Youth Organization was subsequently awarded a walkover. Stating that the incident has created an “unprecedented commotion” amongst the Organizing Committee, participating teams and the football fans and subsequent unfortunate disruption of the scheduled match, the Organizing Committee sought apology for the inconveniences created. Taking strong exception at the “indisciplined sporting moment”, the Organizing Committee maintained that the incident “is uncalled for in a Trophy that has been organised purely in remembrances of our beloved Martyrs.” In this regard, the Committee earnestly appealed to all participating teams in this edition and even in the years to come to “strictly follow the Bylaws of the Trophy” in the larger interest of sportsmanship and its ultimate objective of “Goal for Peace”. In view of the above stated facts and “as enshrined in the Bylaws Article 14 and 24 of the Trophy”, the Organizing Committee debarred Faith Sporting Club Dimapur from participating in two consecutive editions of the NSF Martyrs Memorial Trophy.
