18th NSF Martyrs’ Trophy from Sept 26

Kohima, September 2 (MExN): The Angami Students’ Union will be organizing the 18th NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy, 2017 at Local Ground (Khuochiezie), Kohima from September 26 to October 24. The month long tournament is organized in respect and honour of late Kekuojalie Sachii of Kohima Village and late Vikhozo Yhoshii of Kigwema Village who became victims to the indiscriminate firing of the Nagaland Armed Police on March 20, 1986 during a peaceful rally called by the Naga Students’ Federation to protest against the State Government’s decision on the Extension of Disturbed Area Belt from 5 km – 20 km along the Indo-Myanmar border and against the induction of Indian Police Service (IPS) cadre into the state of Nagaland. Meanwhile, the Organizing Committee is all set to give away attractive prizes with trophy and citations along with big cash for the tournament Champion, Runner-up, losing semi finalists and quarter finalists besides individual prizes in various disciplines. In this connection, the committee in a press release informed all interested teams/clubs and enthusiastic players from within and outside to start their preparations for partaking in the month long tournament.
