
Younstars and Silver Machete win first matches
DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 8 (MExN): The 1st Champions Trophy T-20 cricket tournament oganised by Nagamese Baptist Fellowship (NBF) Sports Ministry Chümoukedima Village and powered by G-Sports on the theme ‘Pursue oneness’ commenced today at Local Ground Chümoukedima Town.
Director of Shalom Public School, Chümoukedima, Merenla Longchar and Assistant Commandant 3rd NAP, Bishnu Bahadur Thapa graced the inaugural ceremony as special guest and guest of hnour respectively.
Blessing was pronounced by Rev Lhouzoviu Shüya, Pastor of CVBC while Pastor Samuel Chhetri of NBF delivered the welcome address.
Altogether 35 teams are participating in the tournament which carries cash award Rs 50,000 for champions, runners-up – Rs 25,000 and different individual awards also amount to Rs 10,000.
Playing the two matches on the inaugural day, Youngstars and Silver Machete won their respective matches.
In the first match, Youngstars defeated NBF 16 runs. Youngstars scored 195 in 20 overs while NBF managed to score 179 runs. Mahidul of Youngstars was adjudged man of the match.
In the second match, Silver Machete CC defeated JN Agency Kohima by 39 runs. Silver Machete scored 113 runs while JN Agency made 75 runs. Philip of Silver Machete was adjudged man of the match.
