The 1st Free Football Coaching Camp (Under 14 years) for both boys & girls under the aegis of youth resources & sports Nagaland kicked start today here at Indira Gandhi Stadium.
Addressing the kick off service, youth resources & sports advisor Er. Zale Neikha assured that the department will take extra effort to promote football in the state.
He subscribed that Naga youth has ability and talent to shine in the field of football.
Urging the talented boys and girls to take up sports with greater zeal and enthusiasm, he called upon them to be committed and give fullest attention to reach the higher level.
He said that football coaching camp has been necessitated to take the budding footballers forward.
The advisor advised the upcoming footballers to be disciplined and strive for excellence and become professional player.
He said that with the intent to nurture young talents in different disciplines of sports and also to enable the sportspersons to compete at highest level, the department intends to improvise such kind of coaching camp for other disciplines as well.
He was optimistic that with such humble initiative of the government, “our young Naga boys and girls will excel in different discipline of sports and compete with other states at the national and international level in the near future.”
40 boys and 6 girls have registered for this football coaching camp as on September 7.
32 regular students of Indira Gandhi Stadium Football Academy (Girls) will also be part of this camp.
The camp will be conducted every Wednesday and Saturday.
