The 1st Hornbill E-sports Championship 2024 as part of 25th Hornbill Festival 2024 received positive response with Dr. Mansukh L. Mandaviya, Union Minister of Labour & Employment and Youth Affairs & Sports, GoI, handing over prize to the winners, which concluded on December 7 at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima.
On Saturday, Dr. Mandaviya said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the GoI has recognized the potential of e-sports to not only entertain but also create new opportunities for youth, innovation, and economic growth.
This event was organised by Department of Youth Resources & Sports Nagaland in collaboration with LVL UP Consultancy from December 6 to 7 last.
TWM Gaming won the BGMI category at the Hornbill Esports Championship Season 1 organised by Department of Youth Resources & Sports Nagaland at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima.
The team, represented by Dzieseser Suohu, Kezhangutuo Metha, Areeb Naiyar and Akash Kumar, walked away with a cash prize of Rs. 1.20 lakh.
Remorseless secured the second place and awarded with Rs. 60,000 while Sin Official Mizo stood third place and fetched Rs. 40,000.
Vnom Esports secured the fourth place and fetched a cash prize of Rs.20,000.
BO7S stood fifth position and awarded with Rs. 15,000.
6th position SEG Devguru (Rs. 10,000), 7th position- Rising Underdogs (Rs. 9,000), 8th position SEG Esports Rs. 8,000, 9th position Sheleft Esports (Rs 7,000) and 10th position Team XYZ and awarded with Rs. 6,000.
TWM Gaming’s Kezhangutuo (Lobster) was awarded the Most Valuable Player title with 20 finishes and received a cash prize of Rs 5000.
In DOTA 2, the Generation of Miracles (GOM) team from Nagaland won first place and received a cash prize of Rs. 1 lakh.
The players from GOM were Pedelhutuo Nagi, Vizekhol Pucho, Abu Sothu, Vikepele Angami, Vimetha Kikhi, Imchayanger Amer, and Lichon Ovung.
True Strike has been awarded with Rs 60,000 for bagging second position
Your New Feeders (YNF) and Get Good Kid (GGK) secured the third and fourth position and received Rs. 30,000 and Rs. 10,000 respectively.
Tiatoshi Lemtur has been declared as the champion of FC24 (FIFA) and was awarded a cash prize of Rs. 25,000.
Tongtiejet Yaden, Onjang Vaiphei, and Pukhrambam Michael stood second, third, and fourth places and awarded with Rs. 15,000, Rs. 7000 and Rs. 3000 respectively.
